Yes, the annual tuition fees are paid in two installments at the beginning of each semester (Fall & Spring)

My bank rules and regulations require an official pro-forma invoice to be issued by the university; how can I obtain one?

If your country regulations require a pro-forma invoice to be issued by the university to your bank to process the wire transfer, please contact the Student Finance team at studentaccounting@ku.edu.tr to request this.

What are the terms and conditions for refunding the pre-registration fee or semester fee?

Tuition deposit – (pre-registration fee or semester fee), is fully refundable (100%) until the courses add/drop deadline; however, they are non-refundable afterwards (0% refund), no partial refund application either.

Refund application date is considered the date of writing a request to studentaccounting@ku.edu.tr

Can I pay the dormitory annual payment in installments?

No, the dorm fee should be paid in one installment for the whole academic year. Unless, you have a bank account at YapiKredi bank, then you may request more information from your bank directly.

Do you guarantee a room spot for an international student?

No, international students who don’t submit the dormitory application form will lose their chance to get a room.

When are the room types assignments usually announced?

Our dormitory management will send the room assignment results in approximately 4-5 weeks after the application. You will be able to see your room and building number in your KUSIS.

How can I increase my chances of getting a room spot at your dormitories?

You need to include your address in your home country and not to include any address within Türkiye.

What should I do if I stop staying at the dormitory, can I get a refund?

Dormitory fee refund conditions are included in the Koç University Student Dormitory Directive. You can reach it from the link https://dorms.ku.edu.tr/genel-bilgiler/yurt-kurallari-ve-yonergesi/ . You can find the details about the room refusal dates from the “Registration Information” section on the link https://registration.ku.edu.tr/ , in the Dormitory and Accommodation Directorate section.

Are there any extra documents required to enter the dormitories and receive my room key?

Yes, there are. You need to provide a general Health Report and Criminal Record from your country of residency. (They should be in English or Turkish language)

The Health report should be an X-ray for your chest and it should states that you don’t have any contagious diseases or HIV.

What are the documents I need to bring with me when I come to settle in the dormitory?

Students who come to settle in the dormitories need deliver the Dormitory and Accommodation Directorate office the dormitory application form, dormitory contract, dormitory contract and the printout of the room fixture (the relevant document cannot be obtained through KUSIS without paying the dormitory fee difference). Then they can get their room keys and enter the dormitory.

Is there a guest-room inside the dormitories for my parents to stay in while I am completing my enrollment?

Unfortunately, there is not.

What are the offered and included services by the dormitories for the students?

Wi-Fi, cable-TV, phone, refrigerator, bed, closet, desk, chair, bed stand, light, pillow and blanket in each room. Weekly housekeeping services for rooms and daily for common areas. Laundry rooms, kitchens and lounge with TV and computers.

What is “Denklik Belgesi”, and how can I obtain it?

An equivalency letter (Denklik Belgesi): This can be obtained from the local Turkish Embassy/Consulate in your country or from the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye (You can see the application requirements here: ( https://edenklik.meb.gov.tr/) The equivalency letter should state that your high school diploma/certificate is equivalent to those obtained in Türkiye. Please obtain/apply the equivalency letter before coming to enrollment.

I might not be able to get my “Denklik Belgesi” at the time of enrollment; can I still enroll?

International admitted students can still complete their enrollment at our university until a specified date that will be given to them at the time of enrolling. If your equivalency letter “Denklik” is not ready by then, you will still be able to complete your enrollment by signing a Commitment Letter to provide it later during your first academic year.

Do I need to get my transcripts and diploma notarized by the official Public Notary in my city?

Yes, you need to.

I am a student coming from the English system (GCSE A2 Levels) and currently only have my predicted A-level scores, can I apply for the denklik with these or do I need the final scores?

You will need the final A-level certificates that will come in August to apply for the denklik

I am under 18 years old; is there any extra document required from me before arriving to Türkiye?

Yes, you need to provide an official notarized Consent from both, your father and mother. (In Turkish, it is called “MUAFAKATNAME”). It can be done and obtained from the Turkish Consulate/Embassy in your country. Please email our International Community Office (ICO) team at the following email address: ico@ku.edu.tr for more details.

I don’t have a valid passport now; can I include my National ID number instead?

Yes, you can.

What is the English Placement Exam? When it will be?

The English Placement Exam is an exam that lasts 45 minutes, consists of 80 multiple-choice questions at different difficulty levels, and measures grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension skills. This exam aims to measure the current level of English, not the student’s preparation skipping. For this reason, it is very important that students do all the questions they can to be placed in the most correct level. Depending on the result, you can pass the Preparation class and take the next advanced test “KUEPE”, or you will be placed in the preparatory English school according to your level. The Placement Exam will be held in September and eligible admitted students will be informed about the exact timing by then.

How can I transfer former taken courses to your University?

During the enrollment days, you will need to submit a petition through your KUSIS page attaching your former taken courses transcripts and syllabuses.

How can I add my first semester courses?

The first semester courses for freshmen students will be added automatically during the enrollment week by the Registrar and Student Affairs Directorate. You can see more information about course enrollment here

An Chest X-Ray is not required for registration, but it is required if you will apply to stay at university dormitories.

Is online registration available?

Yes, it is.

Can someone else do the online recording registration for me?

Since there are fields in our registration forms that must be approved by our students, they must be filled in by the student personally.

MATR FORM does not open, what can I do?

The form is not opened for admitted students who have not made the 1st semester tuition fee payment yet. The form is activated 1 hour after the fee payment is confirmed by the Student Accounting team. If you have sent the bank wire transfer to the relevant Koç University USD bank account please take into account that it takes on average 5-10 working days for the payment to be received in the university’s bank account and for our Student Accounting team to check and do the necessary processes in the Student Information System (KUSIS). If you have sent your tuition payment more than 10 working days ago and you can’t see the MATR FORM on KUSIS please email studentaccounting@ku.edu.tr indicating your KU ID number and a copy of the payment receipt.

Do I have to upload the necessary documents for registration?

Vaccination Card process is a process in which 2 doses of vaccine are received by a person and the vaccination card is filled.
